Web Site Services Info

Here's some information for potential clients to consider:

  • Domain names:
    • If you have already secured a domain name, I prefer that it be transferred over to DreamHost. This makes it easier to administer on my end and generally ends up being cheaper.
    • If you haven't secured a name, do you have a name in mind? You can use any domain registrar (like GoDaddy) to check on the availability. If you aren't entirely certain, check out BustAName.
    • Personal information for the domain registration will be listed as private.
  • Cost for web site:
    • Domain name registration/renewal fee per year is $15.
    • Web and email services cost $60 per year.
    • Web/email/domain services will be provided through my account with DreamHost and administered by me. Access will be given to you for your specific services on my account.
    • All fees will be made payable to me and are due in full at the beginning of each billing year.
  • Web/email storage technical specifications (just a few of the less technical yet important items):
    • UNLIMITED disk space.
    • UNLIMITED transfer bandwidth per month.
    • Unlimited email boxes containing your domain name and accessible from any web browser. This also includes an option of using Gmail natively.
    • Web statistics (analysis tools to see what your visitors are looking at most, how many visitors you have, etc.).
    • FTP access to web server for uploading/downloading files.
    • Google Apps integration available. This includes Google Docs, Calendar, Sites, etc.
  • My personal fees for being a web designer/webmaster:
    • Design:
      • $500 for the overall design and implementation of the site. The full amount is due at time of public site launch. (Payment plan options available.)
      • This means that I would do the layout, etc. of the site and then get it set up on the server and functioning. Then, whomever would be responsible for doing updates and changes to the site after this point would take over.
    • Webmaster:
      • Option 1: $100 per month regardless of the amount of updates and changes that occur (fees billed at beginning of each month).
      • Option 2: $25 per incident regardless of the amount of updates and changes that occur (fees billed at time of incident).
      • This means that I would continue to do any necessary updates to any and all items included in the site. This would include layout changes, text and content updates, as well as having full server and account access for maintaining email accounts and any other necessary back end needs.
    • With either option, the owner has ultimate power over the account and has the option of requesting modified publishing options so that they can contribute content to the site with minimal interaction being required from both parties.
    • General account and system maintenance is included in all services provided. This however does not include technical support services. Technical support services will be billed at $25 per hour and are not pro-rated (fees are due within 10 days of service date).
    • All fees will be made payable to me and are due in full within 10 days of billing date.
This is not to be considered a contract, only a tool for guidance. A contract is not necessary but can be requested from either party. If a contract is requested, the above mentioned details will be included.
